Set air fryer to 190°C and preheat for 3 minutes.

Roll out crescent or pizza dough and cut into equal squares or rectangles.

On half of each dough piece, spread marinara sauce, top with mozzarella cheese, and layer with pepperoni slices.

Fold over each dough piece to enclose the filling and press edges firmly using a fork to seal.

Brush surface with beaten egg, then sprinkle Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese if using.

Arrange pockets in a single layer in the air fryer basket, allowing space between each. Cook for 8–10 minutes or until golden and crisp.

Remove pockets and let cool briefly before serving. Filling will be very hot.
