# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Garlic Bread Base

01 - 1 loaf Italian bread
02 - 115 g unsalted butter, softened
03 - 1 teaspoon garlic salt

→ Sloppy Joe Filling

04 - 450 g ground beef
05 - 40 g yellow onion, chopped
06 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
08 - 180 ml ketchup
09 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
10 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
11 - 120 ml water

→ Topping

12 - 100 g shredded mozzarella cheese
13 - 100 g shredded sharp cheddar cheese
14 - Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

# How to Prepare:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C. Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise. Spread softened butter evenly across cut sides and sprinkle with garlic salt.
02 - Arrange bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden and crisp. Remove from the oven and set aside.
03 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onions are softened, breaking up meat as it cooks.
04 - Drain excess fat. Stir in garlic powder, yellow mustard, ketchup, kosher salt, black pepper, and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until mixture thickens.
05 - Spoon the hot beef mixture evenly over both toasted bread halves.
06 - Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
07 - Return the assembled bread to the oven. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
08 - Remove from oven, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and cut into individual servings.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Italian bread can be replaced with French bread or ciabatta for a different texture.
02 - For added heat, incorporate red pepper flakes into the beef filling.
03 - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
