Chicken with Buttered Noodles (Print-Friendly Version)

Golden chicken and silky noodles with savory mushrooms in a rich, creamy sauce for a cozy meal.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Chicken Preparation

01 - 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to even thickness
02 - Salt, to taste
03 - Black pepper, to taste
04 - 2 tablespoons olive oil

→ Mushroom Cream Sauce

05 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
06 - 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
07 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
08 - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
09 - 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
10 - 1 cup chicken broth
11 - 1 cup heavy cream

→ Noodle Assembly and Garnish

12 - 12 ounces wide noodles, cooked and tossed with butter
13 - Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
14 - Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish

# How to Prepare:

01 - Sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts evenly with salt and black pepper.
02 - Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook until golden on both sides and fully cooked, approximately 4–5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside, keeping warm.
03 - In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until lightly browned and their moisture has evaporated, about 5 minutes.
04 - Stir in the minced garlic, dried thyme, and dried oregano. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently, until aromatic.
05 - Pour in the chicken broth and gently scrape the bottom of the skillet to loosen any browned bits. Bring to a simmer and reduce the liquid by half, about 5 minutes.
06 - Stir in the heavy cream and return to a simmer. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens slightly, 3–4 minutes.
07 - To serve, arrange buttered noodles on plates. Place the cooked chicken breasts atop the noodles. Spoon mushroom cream sauce over chicken and noodles. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Ensure chicken breasts are pounded to even thickness for uniform cooking and optimal tenderness.
02 - Allow chicken to rest briefly after cooking to maintain juiciness.
