Classic Perogies and Sausage Skillet (Print-Friendly Version)

Golden sausage, onions, and pierogies combine for a savory skillet dinner ready in under 30 minutes.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 450 grams frozen pierogies, any flavor
02 - 2 teaspoons olive oil
03 - 4 chicken sausages, sliced into 2.5 cm coins
04 - 1 small yellow onion, sliced into strips
05 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
06 - Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

# How to Prepare:

01 - Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add frozen pierogies and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until they float to the surface.
02 - While pierogies are boiling, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced chicken sausages and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until browned and crisp on the edges.
03 - Stir the sliced onion into the skillet and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, allowing onions to soften slightly.
04 - Using a slotted spoon, transfer cooked pierogies directly to the skillet with the sausage and onions. Arrange in a single layer with one side of each pierogi touching the skillet surface.
05 - Distribute butter in small pieces around the skillet. Continue cooking for 4 to 5 minutes, tossing occasionally, until pierogies are golden in spots.
06 - Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Ensure pierogies are not overcrowded in the skillet to achieve optimal browning.
