In the bowl of a slow cooker, combine barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and crushed red pepper. Stir until well incorporated.

Place the chicken breasts into the sauce, turning to coat each piece thoroughly.

Cover with the slow cooker lid. Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is very tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Remove the lid and shred the chicken with two forks. Stir well to coat all shredded pieces evenly with sauce. Serve warm.
