Crock Pot BBQ Chicken (Print-Friendly Version)

Pulled chicken slow-cooked in savory BBQ sauce, ideal for parties or simple family dinners.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Chicken

01 - 1.5 kg boneless, skinless chicken breast

→ Sauce and Seasonings

02 - 480 ml barbecue sauce
03 - 60 g packed light or dark brown sugar
04 - 30 ml apple cider vinegar
05 - 15 ml olive oil
06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
08 - 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
09 - 0.25–0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper

# How to Prepare:

01 - In the bowl of a slow cooker, combine barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and crushed red pepper. Stir until well incorporated.
02 - Place the chicken breasts into the sauce, turning to coat each piece thoroughly.
03 - Cover with the slow cooker lid. Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is very tender and easily shreds with a fork.
04 - Remove the lid and shred the chicken with two forks. Stir well to coat all shredded pieces evenly with sauce. Serve warm.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For food safety, always completely thaw chicken breasts before slow cooking; do not use frozen chicken directly in the slow cooker.
