One-Pan Bold Honey BBQ Chicken (Print-Friendly Version)

Juicy chicken, fluffy rice, and smoky honey BBQ sauce come together in one pan for quick comfort and bold flavor.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 450 g boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, diced
02 - 200 g long-grain white rice, uncooked
03 - 240 ml BBQ sauce (honey or smoky style)
04 - 80 g onion, finely chopped
05 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
07 - 480 ml chicken broth or water
08 - Salt, to taste
09 - Black pepper, to taste

→ Optional

10 - 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey or hot sauce for additional sweetness or heat

# How to Prepare:

01 - Cut chicken into bite-sized cubes and season evenly with salt and pepper.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add seasoned chicken and sear until each piece is golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer chicken to a plate and set aside.
03 - In the same pan, add chopped onion. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring frequently.
04 - Stir uncooked rice into the onion mixture, allowing it to toast for approximately 1 minute to develop flavor.
05 - Pour in chicken broth, stirring well and scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
06 - Return browned chicken to the skillet. Add BBQ sauce and mix thoroughly to coat all ingredients.
07 - Lower the heat to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the rice is fully tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
08 - Turn off the heat. Gently fluff rice, cover again, and let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Drizzle with additional BBQ sauce if desired.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For richer depth, use a smoky BBQ sauce and finish with freshly chopped herbs like parsley or chives just before serving.
