Korean Beef Sloppy Joes (Print-Friendly Version)

Ground beef in a sweet-spicy Korean sauce, served on brioche with garlic and green onions. A bold flavor twist.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Beef Mixture

01 - 680 g ground beef (85/15 fat content)
02 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
03 - 2 teaspoons sesame oil
04 - 120 ml ketchup
05 - 120 ml hoisin sauce
06 - 120 ml water
07 - 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
08 - 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
09 - 0.5 teaspoon sriracha

→ Serving

10 - 2 green onions, thinly sliced
11 - 4 brioche rolls

# How to Prepare:

01 - Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook while breaking up the meat into crumbles about the size of a raspberry or small grape, leaving some larger pieces for better texture.
02 - Continue to cook the beef for 5 to 6 minutes until deeply browned and cooked through.
03 - Add minced garlic, sesame oil, ketchup, hoisin sauce, water, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and sriracha. Stir thoroughly to combine.
04 - Allow the mixture to simmer for an additional 5 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and achieves a 'sloppy' consistency.
05 - Lightly toast the brioche rolls. Spoon the hot beef mixture onto the bottom halves of the rolls, then garnish with sliced green onions and top with remaining roll halves.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For maximum flavor and texture, avoid over-crumbling the ground beef—larger pieces create a heartier sandwich.
