Lemon Basmati Butter Rice (Print-Friendly Version)

Warm basmati grains blend with lemon and butter for a vibrant, comforting side, garnished with parsley.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 cups (400 g) long-grain white rice (such as basmati)
02 - 4 tablespoons (56 g) unsalted butter
03 - 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
04 - 3 cups (720 ml) water
05 - Zest and juice of 1 lemon

→ Optional & Garnish

06 - 1/8 teaspoon (0.5 g) ground turmeric (optional)
07 - 1 tablespoon (3 g) chopped parsley (for garnish)

# How to Prepare:

01 - Rinse the rice under cold running water using a bowl or fine mesh strainer for about 1 minute, until the water is clear.
02 - Melt the butter in a medium-sized pot over medium heat. Add the rinsed rice and salt, stirring occasionally for 3 minutes, until the grains are slightly toasted.
03 - Pour in the water along with the lemon zest and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 15 minutes.
04 - Remove the pot from heat and let the rice rest, still covered, for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the grains to fully absorb the liquid.
05 - If using, sprinkle turmeric over the rice and gently fluff with a fork. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Using freshly squeezed lemon juice enhances the brightness of the dish.
