In a large mixing bowl, gently combine ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Divide the mixture evenly and shape into four patties approximately 2.5 cm thick.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the beef patties and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until well browned. Remove the patties and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions. Sauté over medium heat, stirring frequently, until deeply caramelized and golden, about 8-10 minutes.

Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and whisk continuously to prevent lumps. Simmer until the gravy thickens.

Return the browned patties to the skillet. Cover and simmer gently for 5 minutes, allowing the patties to heat through and absorb the gravy’s flavors.
