Preheat oven to 175°C.

In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, vanilla extract, egg, and granulated sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy.

Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly over the bottom of a baking dish.

Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry layer.

Evenly sprinkle the yellow cake mix over the surface, then drizzle melted butter over the top to cover as much of the cake mix as possible.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until golden on top and bubbling around the edges.
