01 -
Bring 500 ml water to a boil in a small saucepan.
02 -
If using cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans, add them with star anise to the boiling water. Turn off heat and cover with a lid to steep. If using ground cinnamon and vanilla extract, add directly to water and skip the steeping.
03 -
Allow the cinnamon, vanilla, and star anise to infuse in the hot water for 10 minutes.
04 -
For black tea, add loose-leaf tea or tea bags to the infusion and steep an additional 3 to 5 minutes, adjusting for desired strength.
05 -
Gently heat 500 ml milk in a separate saucepan until warm but not boiling.
06 -
Pour the cinnamon-vanilla infusion through a fine strainer into the warm milk, discarding solids.
07 -
Stir in honey, sugar, or your preferred sweetener to taste. Serve hot, or let cool and serve over ice for a chilled beverage.
