# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Meat and Protein

01 - 450 g ground beef or a mixture of ground beef and pork
02 - 1 egg

→ Aromatics and Flavourings

03 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
04 - 1 clove garlic, minced
05 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

→ Binding Ingredients

06 - 1 slice stale white bread (or 65 g breadcrumbs)
07 - 60 ml milk
08 - 1 teaspoon mustard (Dijon or yellow)

→ Seasonings

09 - 1 teaspoon salt
10 - 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
11 - 0.5 teaspoon paprika
12 - 0.5 teaspoon ground marjoram (optional)

→ For Frying

13 - 2 tablespoons neutral oil or butter

# How to Prepare:

01 - Soak the slice of stale white bread in milk for approximately 5 minutes. Squeeze out any excess milk and crumble the bread into small pieces. Set aside.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, add ground meat, soaked bread, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, mustard, salt, black pepper, paprika, marjoram if using, and parsley. Gently mix until the ingredients are just combined; avoid overmixing to ensure tender patties.
03 - Divide the mixture evenly into 4 to 6 portions. Shape each portion into a flat, oval-shaped patty about 1.25 cm thick.
04 - Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through to an internal temperature of 71°C.
05 - Serve the Frikadellen warm, accompanied by potato salad, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Avoid overworking the meat mixture for a delicate, juicy texture.
02 - For added aroma, a pinch of nutmeg may be included.
03 - Ensure patties are cooked to 71°C for food safety.
