Wash the strawberries under cold water and gently pat them dry with a paper towel. Remove the stems and slice them into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.

Drain the mozzarella and pat it dry. If using a large ball of mozzarella, slice it into rounds similar in thickness to the strawberries. If using small mozzarella balls, drain them well.

On a serving platter, arrange the strawberry slices and mozzarella in an alternating pattern, either in rows or a circle.

Tear or chop the fresh basil leaves and sprinkle them over the strawberries and mozzarella.

Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the arranged salad. If using, add a light drizzle of olive oil and season with a pinch of sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
