Crispy Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries (Print-Friendly Version)

Golden, crispy sweet potatoes, seasoned with paprika and garlic, baked until perfectly tender and crisp.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Sweet Potatoes

01 - 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled if desired, cut into 0.6 cm thick fries

→ Seasoning & Oil

02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1 teaspoon paprika or smoked paprika for additional depth
05 - 1 teaspoon salt
06 - 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper

→ Optional

07 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch, for enhanced crispiness

# How to Prepare:

01 - Set oven to 220°C and insert a baking sheet to heat while preparing sweet potatoes.
02 - Peel sweet potatoes if desired. Slice into uniform fries approximately 0.6 cm thick to promote even cooking.
03 - Immerse sliced sweet potatoes in a bowl of cold water for 30 minutes to draw out excess starch, aiding crispiness.
04 - Drain fries and thoroughly pat dry with paper towel. In a large bowl, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. If desired, add cornstarch and toss to evenly coat.
05 - Carefully remove the heated baking sheet from the oven. Arrange sweet potato fries in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping fries midway through, until golden and crisp.
06 - Remove fries from the oven once crisp and golden brown. Allow to cool briefly before serving.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Soaking the fries and ensuring they are completely dry before baking greatly enhances crispiness.
02 - Coating with cornstarch before baking absorbs additional moisture, resulting in a crunchier exterior.
