# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 450 g kielbasa sausage, sliced into 0.5 cm rounds
02 - 450 g russet potatoes, peeled and diced into 1.5 cm cubes
03 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
04 - 120 g sour cream
05 - 240 ml milk
06 - 115 g unsalted butter, melted
07 - 60 ml olive oil
08 - 200 g shredded cheddar cheese, divided

→ Seasonings and Herbs

09 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
10 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
11 - 1 teaspoon paprika
12 - 1 teaspoon salt
13 - 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
14 - 15 g fresh parsley, chopped

# How to Prepare:

01 - Preheat the oven to 190°C and lightly grease a 33x23 cm baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
02 - Peel and dice the potatoes into 1.5 cm cubes. Place in a pot of water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook for 10-12 minutes until just fork-tender. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.
03 - Slice kielbasa into 0.5 cm thick rounds. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add kielbasa and cook 5-7 minutes until browned and crisp on the edges. Remove from skillet and set aside.
04 - In the same skillet, add chopped onion and cook 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, and sauté an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
05 - In a large bowl, combine cooked potatoes, sautéed onions with seasonings, and browned kielbasa. Add melted butter, sour cream, milk, and 150 g of shredded cheddar. Gently mix until evenly combined.
06 - Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Top with the remaining 50 g of cheddar cheese. Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and the top is bubbly and golden.
07 - Remove from oven and allow casserole to rest for several minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Serve warm.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For extra creaminess, replace milk with half-and-half or whipping cream.
02 - Roasting the potatoes instead of boiling delivers a crispier texture.
03 - Add steamed broccoli or bell peppers for additional color and nutrients.
04 - Substitute smoked or turkey sausage for a lighter version.
05 - Sprinkle freshly chopped thyme or extra black pepper over the top for added aroma.
06 - To make spicier, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or diced jalapeno.
