01 -
Set oven to the temperature indicated on the frozen fries packaging. Line two baking trays with aluminium foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
02 -
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
03 -
Distribute frozen fries evenly on the prepared baking trays. Sprinkle with seasoning blend, reserving approximately 2 g of the mixture for garnish.
04 -
Toss fries to ensure even seasoning. Bake according to package instructions, rotating trays halfway, until fries are golden and crisp.
05 -
Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
06 -
Whisk in flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, whisking constantly to form a smooth roux.
07 -
Gradually pour in milk while whisking, continuing until the mixture is smooth and combined.
08 -
Simmer to thicken, then gradually add shredded cheddar cheese. Stir continuously until fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
09 -
Reduce heat to low and keep sauce warm. Add an extra splash of milk if it thickens excessively.
10 -
Arrange one quarter of the fries on a plate. Spoon approximately 60 ml cheese sauce over the fries.
11 -
Drizzle 15 ml ranch dressing over the fries and sprinkle with a small amount of reserved seasoning.
12 -
Repeat plating, cheese saucing, and ranch drizzling process for remaining portions.
13 -
Serve promptly with extra ranch dressing, cheese sauce, or ketchup for dipping as desired.
