Mozzarella Chicken Basil Cream (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Chicken Preparation

01 - 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, halved lengthwise to create 4 cutlets
02 - 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
03 - 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
04 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 0.5 teaspoon sweet paprika
06 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
07 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
08 - 4 slices fresh mozzarella cheese

→ Basil Cream Sauce

09 - 240 ml heavy cream
10 - 120 ml chicken broth
11 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
12 - 50 grams finely grated Parmesan cheese
13 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
14 - 0.5 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
15 - 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
16 - 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
17 - 15 grams fresh basil leaves, chopped

# Instructions:

01 - Sprinkle chicken cutlets evenly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
02 - Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken cutlets and cook 4–5 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through (internal temperature 74°C).
03 - Place a mozzarella slice onto each piece of chicken. Cover pan and allow cheese to melt. Transfer the chicken to a warm plate and set aside.
04 - Add minced garlic to the same skillet and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant. Deglaze with chicken broth, scraping any browned bits from the pan.
05 - Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes. Add chopped fresh basil and combine well.
06 - Return chicken to skillet. Spoon sauce over each cutlet. Let simmer together for 2–3 minutes to unify flavors.
07 - Serve the chicken hot, accompanied by sauce and your choice of pasta, rice, or crusty bread.

# Notes:

01 - For a thicker sauce, simmer longer or add a slurry of 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water.
02 - Sun-dried tomatoes or sautéed mushrooms may be incorporated into the sauce for extra complexity.
03 - Use fresh basil for optimal flavor; substitute with 1 teaspoon dried basil if necessary.
