Juicy sausage, tender orzo, and tomato sauce unite in one-pan for a quick, comforting Italian-inspired meal.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Main Components

01 - 225 grams Italian sausage, crumbled
02 - 200 grams orzo pasta

→ Aromatics and Liquids

03 - 15 millilitres olive oil
04 - 1/2 onion, chopped (approximately 60 grams)
05 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 360 millilitres chicken broth
07 - 120 grams canned diced tomatoes

→ Seasonings and Cheese

08 - 1.25 millilitres Italian seasoning
09 - 25 grams grated Parmesan cheese
10 - Salt, to taste
11 - Black pepper, to taste
12 - Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish (optional)

# How to Prepare:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add crumbled Italian sausage and cook until well browned, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.
02 - Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
03 - Stir in orzo pasta, chicken broth, canned diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. Mix thoroughly and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
04 - Cook uncovered over medium-low heat for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
05 - Stir in grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving. Serve hot.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Enhance with a handful of spinach or kale added at the end for extra vegetables.
02 - For a creamier texture, stir in a splash of heavy cream just before serving.
03 - Ground chicken or plant-based sausage can replace traditional sausage for a lighter or vegetarian alternative.
