Follow the instructions on the chocolate cake mix packaging to prepare and bake the cake. Once baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.

Using the back of a spoon, poke evenly spaced holes into the cooled cake. Warm the hot fudge in the microwave until pourable, then pour it evenly over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Let the cake cool completely.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and 1 3/4 cups of milk. Before the pudding fully sets, spread it evenly over the cooled cake. Place the cake in the refrigerator to chill for about 20 minutes.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the second package of chocolate pudding mix and 1 3/4 cups of milk. Refrigerate the pudding mixture until fully set, about 10 minutes. Fold the thawed cool whip into the set pudding, then mix in 3/4 of the crushed Oreos.

Spread the pudding and Oreo topping mixture evenly over the chilled cake. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos on top. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
