Oven Roasted Garlic Cabbage Steaks (Print-Friendly Version)

Tender cabbage steaks roasted with garlic and spices offer a crispy, golden, and savory side for any meal.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1 large green or red cabbage

→ Seasoning and Oils

02 - 3 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
05 - 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
06 - 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
07 - 1 teaspoon salt
08 - 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

→ Optional toppings

09 - grated Parmesan cheese
10 - red pepper flakes
11 - fresh parsley

# How to Prepare:

01 - Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or grease lightly to prevent sticking.
02 - Remove any wilted outer leaves from the cabbage. Using a sharp knife, carefully slice the cabbage into 2 cm thick rounds, keeping the core intact to hold each piece together.
03 - In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
04 - Brush the seasoning mixture generously on both sides of each cabbage steak, ensuring full coverage for enhanced flavor.
05 - Place cabbage steaks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring space between pieces. Roast in the oven for 25–30 minutes, turning once halfway through roasting, until edges are golden and crisp.
06 - Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, or fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately while hot.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For uniform crispness, ensure cabbage slices are of even thickness. Use parchment paper for easier cleanup and a crisp bottom.
