# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 450 g smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
02 - 8 pierogi, frozen or fresh
03 - 120 g shredded cheese, cheddar or preferred melting variety

→ For Frying and Assembly

04 - 28 g butter, divided for frying and greasing
05 - 15 ml vegetable oil, for frying sausage
06 - salt and pepper, to taste

# How to Prepare:

01 - Heat a frying pan over medium heat with half the butter and the oil. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and edges are crisped. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
02 - Preheat oven to 190°C. Grease a baking dish with remaining butter or use non-stick spray.
03 - In the same pan, lightly fry the pierogi until golden on both sides. Arrange evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
04 - Scatter the browned sausage slices over the pierogi. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
05 - Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheese across the entire dish for a consistent melted topping.
06 - Place the dish uncovered in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
07 - Remove from oven and let rest 5 minutes to set. Serve hot, ensuring each portion includes pierogi, sausage, and a crisp cheesy top.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For best texture, avoid overcrowding when frying the pierogi—work in batches if necessary.
