Snickerdoodle Bars Cinnamon Sugar (Print-Friendly Version)

Soft, chewy bars with a cinnamon-sugar crust deliver nostalgic sweetness in every bite. Enjoy warm or cool.

# What You’ll Need to Make This:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 250 g all-purpose flour
02 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
03 - 0.5 teaspoon salt
04 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided

→ Wet Ingredients

05 - 225 g unsalted butter, melted
06 - 300 g granulated sugar, plus 25 g for topping
07 - 2 large eggs
08 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

# How to Prepare:

01 - Preheat the oven to 175°C. Line a 20x20 cm baking pan with parchment paper, allowing excess to overhang for easy removal.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon until evenly combined.
03 - In a large bowl, mix melted butter with 300 g granulated sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
04 - Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
05 - Mix the reserved 25 g granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over the surface of the batter.
06 - Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center yields a few moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking.
07 - Cool bars completely in the pan on a wire rack. Lift out using parchment overhang, then slice into squares or rectangles for serving.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For an extra crisp top, briefly broil the bars for 1–2 minutes post-bake, monitoring closely to avoid burning.
02 - Adjust cinnamon content to preference for either a delicately spiced or robustly flavored dessert.
03 - For additional decadence, drizzle with a glaze of powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon before serving.
