Marbled Rainbow Donuts Tutorial (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Base

01 - 1 dozen plain, non-glazed donuts

→ For the Rainbow Glaze

02 - 3 cups powdered sugar
03 - 6 teaspoons water
04 - Neon food coloring
05 - Regular food coloring

# Instructions:

01 - Place ½ cup powdered sugar in each bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of water to each bowl and mix until the consistency is like syrup. Add food coloring 2 drops at a time until desired color is achieved. Create 6 different colors (pink, yellow, green, blue, purple, etc.).
02 - Using a spoon, draw a thick line of each colored sugar glaze on a plate. Place all colors side by side; they will start to blend together. Take a toothpick and swirl the colors together into the desired pattern.
03 - Place the donut face down in the sugar glaze. Lightly press down all around to ensure complete coverage. Pop any bubbles that form with a toothpick. Place the glazed donut on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Add more lines of colored glaze to the plate after every couple of donuts.
04 - If the glaze appears too thin or areas were missed, apply a second coat once the first layer has partially dried. Let dry completely before serving. Do not place in an airtight container or refrigerator to avoid sticky glaze. Store on the counter until ready to serve.

# Notes:

01 - Each donut will have a unique marbled pattern.
02 - For ant protection, store on a plate in the microwave (not turned on).
03 - Best made the day before serving to allow the glaze to set properly.
